National Grid Cambridge Street Substation Upgrade

National Grid updated an existing yard and installed two new 7.5 kVA transformers. Daniel O’Connell’s Sons was responsible for the site and concrete work as a Civil subcontractor to the construction manager. The project required demolition of the existing foundations and construction of new foundations, with containment systems and related yard structure foundations. DOC made efforts to ensure a minor project footprint and sequenced work to maintain a live station at all times.
