Yale Divinity School
The Sterling Divinity Quadrangle Adaptive Reuse Project involved a labyrinth of 17 buildings on 21 different levels. Every one of these buildings — and the entire campus infrastructure — was affected by this ambitious reconstruction and adaptive reuse program. The project was carried out in multiple phases to allow complex construction operations to take place without disturbing the fully functioning activities of the Divinity School. DOC provided the technical expertise necessary for a broad range of work: from implementing difficult structural changes that converted dormitory rooms into state-of-the-art classrooms and faculty offices; to providing careful craftsmanship to restore the beautiful old buildings; to managing reconstruction of the entire campus utility infrastructure. Winner of the Build Connecticut Award for Large Restoration Project.
