Yale University Stoeckel Hall
This extensive and complex renovation project of Stoeckel Hall repaired structural damage and aging facilities, added new equipment, and soundproof walls, doors and hallways. Its distinctive, ornate terra cotta façade was meticulously restored. An addition was constructed to accommodate new lecture and seminar rooms. Reopened in January 2009, the building now houses administrative and faculty offices for the Music Department on the first, second and third floors; graduate student study areas and a rehearsal room on the lower level; and a computer/technology suite on the fourth floor.
In October 2009, Stoeckel Hall earned a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
In November of 2010, Stoeckel Hall earned a “Most Intriguing Institutional” Award by the Connecticut Green Building Council.
