When it comes to BIM we understand one simple thing: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

To truly get the full advantages of BIM we begin our collaboration with the designers at the beginning of Schematic Design. We check for inconsistencies in the models through clash detection and interference checks throughout all disciplines of the project and through each submission set of drawings. This provides for collaboration between the team members, the sharing of data which benefits the entire team, and in the end saves the owner time and money.

Integrating ourselves in the BIM process during schematic design also allows us to use the model for constructability review, 4D scheduling, phasing and material take-offs. Not only does the model evolve and become more complex as the project nears completion but you will be left with a full as-built model to be used for facilities management.

At DOC we consider this as an investment rather than a cost. We have invested in all Revit Products including Architectural, Structural, & MEP, so we can initiate discussions early on and collaborate effectively with all designers.
