Northfield Mount Hermon School Infrastructure
As part of the School’s plan to consolidate all operations into one campus, DOC was retained for the necessary infrastructure work to support proposed and existing buildings. DOC served as the design/builder in order to expedite and simplify the process. The overall plan included upgrades to existing systems, extending others, and relocating some systems into a cultural campus inner loop to accommodate the Rhodes Arts Center and a proposed gymnasium expansion. The scope included a new steam and condensate line along the inner loop. The sanitary sewer system was replaced with modern materials and the storm water system was expanded. A new 10” domestic water line was connected to the east end of campus to the new upper campus loop. The addition of a new 13.8 KV high voltage feed incorporated the current 2,400 volt system and provided capacity for the future building, which was also added. Existing overhead telephone/data feeds were relocated to underground distribution. The Rhodes Arts Center, for which DOC was the construction manager, was the catalyst for development of the new infrastructure.
