Smith College Campus Center

Smith College’s Campus Center lies at the heart of campus, providing students, faculty, and staff with a dynamic new home for social interaction. A long, curved, sky lit gallery forms the core of the design. Along this central core are lounges, exhibition areas, art studios, performance spaces, dining facilities, shops, and student organizations. A series of outdoor terraces connect the dining and lounge areas with the surrounding landscape. To ensure the constructability of this first-of-a-kind undulating skylight, DOC collaborated extensively during preconstruction with the architect, Weiss/Manfredi Architects, and subcontractors.
