Smith College Brown Fine Arts Center

Renovating and expanding the Fine Arts Center was the most ambitious capital project in the history of Smith College. Internationally-acclaimed architects Polshek Partnership designed a vibrant symbol of the important role the arts play in the Smith campus community. The reconfigured Fine Arts Center provides an entire floor of sky lit galleries, creates studio and display spaces, and offers an enclosed, all-season atrium for receptions and exhibit openings. During construction DOC updated or replaced nearly every system and structural element in the Fine Arts Center, including gallery space, art and library storage, mechanical, electrical, state-of- the-art climate control, and multimedia and computer information systems.
