John Carroll Water Treatment Plant
This project includes the installation of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment at the John J. Carroll Water Treatment Plant. This 405 MGD plant is located in Marlborough, MA and serves Boston and the surrounding metropolitan area. The new UV units will enable the MWRA to meet the EPA’s new requirements for a second primary disinfectant. Construction includes bypass of the extended ozone contact chambers, removal and relocation of existing chemical feed points, installation of temporary sodium hypochlorite feed, HVAC and electrical systems controls.
