Indian Orchard Pump Station

The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission retained Daniel O’Connell’s Sons to update the Indian Orchard Pump Station as part of a broader system improvement program. This required the complete gutting of the antiquated pumping and mechanical system in the pump station. To take the active pump station off line, DOC had to develop and install a bypass system capable of pumping 35 million gallons per day. The major improvement to the pump station was the installation of four (4) 550 HP wet weather pumps, two (2) 330 HP dry weather pumps and 20,000 gallon surge tank.
