Harvard University Bauer Life Sciences Laboratory

This newest addition to Harvard’s Chemistry Department complex contains more than 60,000- sq-ft on an extremely constricted site. Built within a few feet of active classrooms and science laboratories, the project required extensive below grade work for utility relocation while maintaining uninterrupted service to nearby buildings. Additionally, 30,000-sq-ft of subterranean space was developed beneath the interior courtyard. The dramatic, triangular building houses state-of-the-art research laboratories for multiple disciplines, faculty offices, conference rooms and lecture halls, as well as a soaring three-story atrium. Winner of the Build Massachusetts Honor Award.
