Cost and Benefits

  • A BIM approach identifies problems during design, well in advance of field construction. By the time the project mobilizes, the need for field staff is minimized to the point that one staffer can be eliminated. That staff reduction exceeds the full cost of implementing the BIM technology by a factor of two.
  • That result has just been proven to DOC on our Bunker Hill Community College Health and Wellness project. That job, now complete, is becoming the Commonwealth’s most successful undertaking. The fact that it was the first application of BIM technology is largely responsible for that success.
