Amherst College Infrastructure Project

The Infrastructure Improvement Project significantly updated a large portion of the college’s systems that support every facility on campus, some of which are original construction.

Amherst College C. Pratt and Morrow Halls

This two building project addressed the pressing need to improve these dormitories, two of the oldest on campus.

Amherst College North and South Halls

One of the highlights of this project was the reuse of chestnut timber framing that was salvaged from the renovation of Williston Hall and re-manufactured for the flooring, base, and trim for the public spaces.

The interior of the 50 year- old building was completely replaced, adding a new 14-foot-deep pool and 4-foot-deep warm-up pool.

Kemeny Hall is a 93,000 square foot brick and granite structure reunitig a mathematics department that had been spread among three buildings.

Deerfield Academy - Fitness Center & Greer Store Renovations

Deerfield Academy renovated their existing Fitness Center & Greer Store Dining Hall with additional classrooms and a vast expansion and improvement to their training facilities.

Harvard Law School Hauser Hall

DOC provided preconstruction consulting services and served as general contractor for the new six-level building located in the Harvard Law School quadrangle.

Harvard Law School Langdell Hall

The highly complex renovation of the historic main library of Harvard Law School was carried out while portions of the building remained operational, including the Rare Book Collection room.

Harvard University Bauer Life Sciences Laboratory

The dramatic, triangular building houses state-of-the-art research laboratories for multiple disciplines, faculty offices, conference rooms and lecture halls, as well as a soaring three-story atrium. Winner of the Build Massachusetts Honor Award.

Harvard University Maxwell-Dworkin Hall

Massachusetts Venture Center

MIT Arts & Media Center

DOC performed extensive preconstruction services, value engineering, and logistical planning to help make this state-of-the-art project a reality.

MIT Simmons Hall

Quite simply, there is nothing else in the world like this building. This project has received a Build Massachusetts award, the AIA Honor Award, and was the June 2003 cover story of Architectural Record.

MIT VLSI Laboratory

An existing six-story concrete frame building on the campus of MIT was completely renovated to create laboratory and office space as well as Class 10 to Class 100 clean rooms for research.

Mount Holyoke College Science Library

The three-phase renovation project, designed by Graham Gund Architects, included a new addition and interior renovations to Williston Library and a complete renovation of Dwight Hall.

Smith College Brown Fine Arts Center

Renovating and expanding the Fine Arts Center was the most ambitious capital project in the history of Smith College.

Smith College Capen House

The fast-track summer project affected every portion of the building, including all new interior walls and finishes on the upper floors of the house.

During the summer hiatus DOC completed extensive interior and exterior renovations to these historic dormitories on the campus of Smith College.

This renovation and expansion project included: construction of a new four-story science center and library; extensive renovations to the existing Clarke Science Center, and construction of an underground tunnel to connect the new facility to adjacent buildings.

Taunton Courthouse

This new facility in Taunton, MA provides 147,000 square feet of space under one roof for district, probate, family, juvenile and housing courts, as well as various offices.

Transportation Building

In the heart of Boston, DOC constructed this 620,000 sq-ft building with office space and below- grade parking for 500 cars.

UConn Gentry

The Studio Arts Building is a 47,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility which includes instructional space for a wood and metal shop and teaching studios for painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics.

US Federal Courthouse

The new U.S. Federal Courthouse forms a spiraling crescent around ancient Copper Beech and Linden trees original to the site.

Wellesley College Davis Museum

DOC was retained to provide advice and guidance for corrective actions to portions of the renowned campus museum.

Wellesley College Infrastructure Upgrade Project

New utilities infrastructure program included steam and condensate piping, telecommunications and electrical duct banks, chilled water piping and storm drainage piping.

Westminster School Performing Arts Center

This award-winning project designed by Graham Gund Architects didn’t just transform Westminster School. It also transformed DOC and helped establish our reputation as a premier builder of performance facilities.

Yale Divinity School

The Sterling Divinity Quadrangle Adaptive Reuse Project involved a labyrinth of 17 buildings on 21 different levels. Winner of the Build Connecticut Award for Large Restoration Project.

Yale University Davenport College

This extensive and complex renovation project of a historic student residence will be completed within an extremely short time frame.

Yale University Marquand Chapel

This complex renovation project was completed within an extremely short time frame.

Yale University Silliman College

Daniel O’Connell’s Sons has managed the renovation of several residential colleges at Yale, including Silliman College, Pierson College, Calhoun College, Jonathan Edwards College, and the Hall of Graduate Studies.

Yale University Stoeckel Hall
