Daniel O’Connell’s Sons Welcomes Joubin Hassanein as President
We are pleased to announce that Joubin Hassanein has joined the firm as president. In this role, Joubin will be responsible for the management and strategic direction at the firm. He will be based in the firm’s Holyoke, Mass. office and succeeds Jeff Bardell who is retiring after leading DOC for the past 16 years. Joubin will be the eighth president in DOC’s 141-year history.
“I am very excited about Joubin joining the very talented team we have at Daniel O’Connell’s Sons,” said Jim Sullivan, president of The O’Connell Companies, Inc. “Joubin is strategic, forward-thinking, and genuine. He has a detailed knowledge of the construction process and has been at the forefront of improvements in construction technology and delivery methods, lecturing at various industry organizations across the country on LEAN construction, and the Integrated Project Delivery method. His previous experience in both civil and building construction projects is a great fit for DOC.”
Prior to joining Daniel O’Connell’s Sons, Joubin served as the director of the New England Group for Shawmut Design and Construction where he managed projects ranging in size from $500,000 to $200 million. Prior to Shawmut, as the New England district manager for Nicholson Construction, Joubin designed and implemented a business development plan in New England, including the development of strategic partnerships to increase the firm’s visibility in the bidding process. He started his career as a construction manager with Modern Continental / Jay Cashman where he worked on one of the most complicated urban projects in the history of the U.S. – the “Big Dig”.
“I am very excited to be joining Daniel O’Connell’s Sons as president,” said Joubin. “The culture of the company is based on core values and principles that are evident in how the firm delivers its services and has built trust with the clients. It is a talent driven company that has the proven ability to successfully complete a diversity of project types – both heavy/civil and building. I am looking forward to developing and implementing a vision for the future with the highly talented individuals working at Daniel O’Connell’s Sons.”
